| Summary: | The special problems of providing adequate water supply and waste disposal systems for arctic settlements are examined at the community of Frobisher Bay, Northwest Territories. The two existing methods, a trucked and a piped system, are compared for adequacy, reliability and cost. A series of alternative improvements to upgrade community services is proposed. It was concluded that any of the suggested alternatives up to the level of complete piped services are feasible from engineering and economic points of view. |
