| Summary: | The 2007 update for Xwi7xwa Library discusses Xwi7xwa Library’s exhibit at the 2007 Asian Library Annual Open House. The exhibit, entitled “Playing with Spirit: First Nations Media, Music and Sport,” was designed to showcase the relationship between Aboriginal and Asian peoples in British Columbia. The update discusses genealogy projects, videos, articles and stories that focus on the cross cultural relationships between these two communities. The update also mentions Xwi7xwa Library’s partnership with the Mowachaht and Muchalaht First Nations and the UBC History Department in a project entitled “Reclaiming the Past for Tomorrow: Indigenous Narratives and Knowledge Repatriation.” The project will develop a community resource centre at Tsaxana and has long term implications regarding economic development within traditional territory; education; language revitalization; and Indigenous knowledge.
