Description
Summary:Nunavik is a Quebec territory located beyond the 55th parallel north that is relatively unexplored compared to more southern and northern sites. This poster aims to show the originality of this territory from the point of view of its avifauna. We highlight that its bird communities are transitional assemblages between the southern forest and northern tundra bird communities. At the species level, we also highlight a significant number of species that reach their southern or northern distribution limit in this region. In the context of climate change and the northwards latitudinal shift in the ranges of northern hemisphere species, Nunavik will most likely experience profound changes in its communities, with a progressive disappearance of tundra species in favor of forest species.
