"Landscapes for Orchestra" is a suite of three orchestral works depicting New Zealand landscapes or themes: “Frond”, for orchestra, has been recorded for inclusion on a CD of orchestral works by New Zealand and Australian composers entitled “Passing: Fresh orchestral sounds from 9 Australasian Composers”, released on the Move Record label, Australia, Executive Producer Martin Wright, Move Records, Producer Wayne Laird, Atoll Records. The Passing CD was featured on Concert FM Pressing On program on 2 and 7 May 2010 and Soundlounge 4 May 2010. “Sophisticated responses to environment we heard in Chris Cree Brown's Antarctic-inspired Icescape, and in Leonie Holmes' Frond, whose curving shape suggested the Maori koru motive”. "Ancient Rhythms" was commissioned and performed by the Manukau Symphony Orchestra during my year as Composer-in Residence with the orchestra, TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, 3 December 2005, conductor Uwe Grodd, and subsequently at the NZSO/SOUNZ Readings, conductor Tecwyn Evans, 3 May 2010. "For Young Nick"(6'30") was first performed at an Auckland Philharmonia Reading workshop conducted by Marc Taddei in September 2002 and subsequently performed by the Wellinton Youth Orchestra (Marc Taddei)2003 2. "Silver Whispers" for massed choir, flute/alto flute, two pianos/celeste and three percussionists, with specially written texts by Marnie Barrell. It was commissioned and performed by the Auckland Choral Society and performed and recorded by them with conductor Peter Watts at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell in 2004. 3. "Inquietude" for mixed ensemble of flute/piccolo/alto flute, clarinet/bass clarinet, horn, viola, cello and percussion, was performed by the Karlheinz Company, University of Auckland in 2003. Subsequent to the submission of the portfolio, two more chamber works have been added to form a suite of compositions on the theme of the subconscious mind. They are "Fragment for String Quartet", written for the Jade Quartet in 2007, and "is there anybody in there", written for Ben Hoadley, Luca Manghi, Anna McGregor and Flora Lee for Ben Hoadley's "New Zealand Music for Woodwind" concert series.
