Quin és el sauròpode més gegant de l'Argentina? La diversitat dels grans titanosaures de la Patagònia

Aquest treball intenta aclarir quin és el sauròpode titanosàurid més gran de l’Argentina. Les proves són escasses; no obstant això, hem intentat seleccionar els ossos de més grandària dels nou titanosàurids més grans. Anteriorment, es proposava a Argentinosaurus com el més gran, però recentment s’ha coronat un nou rei, Patagotitan. En aquest repàs, veurem que hi ha inconsistències i dificultats per definir quin d’aquests titanosàurids és el més gran. En altres paraules, els titanosàurids gegants van ser un grup de sauròpodes de morfologia variable i probablement la seua forma general també era diferent. Entre els titanosàurids més grans, hem inclòs Argyrosaurus superbus, Antarctosaurus giganteus, Argentinosaurus huinculensis, Puertasaurus reuili, Futalognkosaurus dukei, Traukutitan eocaudata, Dreadnoughtus schrani, Notocolossus gonzalezparejasi i Patagotitan mayorum. This work’s intent is to establish which was the most giant titanosaurid sauropod from Argentina. The evidence is scarce; however, we have tried to select the largest bones of the nine most giant titanosaurids. Argentinosaurus has been proposed as the largest titanosaurid, but recently a new king has been erected: the Patagotitan. In this review, we will see that there are some inconsistences and difficulties to define which is the largest. In other words, giant titanosaurids were a group of sauropods with a variable morphology and probably the overall shape was different. Among the largest titanosaurids, we have included Argyrosaurus superbus, Antarctosaurus giganteus, Argentinosaurus huinculensis, Puertasaurus reuili, Futalognkosaurus dukei, Traukutitan eocaudata, Dreadnoughtus schrani, Notocolossus gonzalezparejasi, and Patagotitan mayorum.
