The Museum has a strong teaching and research mandate. The lower level of the Museum houses collections, as well as laboratories for artifact preparation, preservation and study. The collections include mainly objects from Alaska. These include zoological, entomological, botanical and entomological specimens, as well as human artifacts from various points in Alaska's history.
