Summary:The LAB60 simulation is a coupled ocean sea-ice model (NEMO) that uses grid refinement to achieve high resolution (1/60 of a degree) within the Labrador Sea. This simulation starts in 2002 and will cover a period of over 10 years. This video shows the stratification strength (convective energy) from the surface down to 2000m (J m-3) from 2004 through the end of 2013. Higher values indicate stronger stratification and more resistance to convection. This is video 2 in a set of 6 that shows the results of our LAB60 simulation. A few frames are missing due to file problems.
