| Summary: | A Symposium presented as part of the 23rd AAAS Alaska Science Conference at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Alaska. Brent H. McCown and Donval R. Simpson Coordinators Research efforts have yielded valuable data and insights about adaptive mechanisms for survival in cold-dominated environments and also will contribute to practical solutions to some of Alaska's pressing environmental problems.
