Description
Summary:International audience Recognition and characterisation of built-ups in the Siberian sub-Arctic urban territories as Yakutsk are dependant of two main factors: (1) season (snow and ice from October to the end of April, the flooding period in May, and the summertime), which influence the accuracy of urban objects detection. (2) Urban structure, which influence the morphological recognition and characterisation of built-ups. In this study, high repetitiveness remote sensing Sentinel-2 and SPOT 6 high-resolution satellite images are combined to characterise and detect urban built-ups over Yakutsk city. High temporal resolution of Sentinel-2 allows land use change detection and metric spatial resolution of SPOT 6 allows the characterisation of built-ups socio-economic functions and uses.
