Summary:The present investigation about “populational Census of Street dog (Canis Lupus Familiaris) in the Mercado Mayorista from canton Latacunga, Cotopaxi province.” of It is the result of the analysis and systematic study of each one of the variables posed, that carryon to cape through the following aims: identify the Street dog that stay at Mercado Mayorista the days of popular fair, evaluate the number of canine domestic, found in the Wholesale Market and the variable Sex, Age, Race by height, corporal condition, Condition of life, offer to the community latacungueña qualification about the responsible possession of pets and animal welfare. Through the descriptive method made the photographic capture and the respective index card of each one of the dogs that found strolling inside the Mercado Mayorista and his surroundings. The total canine population registered at the Mercado Mayorista is of 44 canes, the canine males with 52,27% equivalents to 23 males, the females 47,78% referring to 21 females found, the canine population adult represents 81,81%, The average dogs represent 59,09% that they are 26 dogs, The greater part possess a corporal condition regulate 54,55% that they are 24 dogs. The condition of life of the canine dogs is of 45,45% at a rate of 20 canes, those that has owner are 29,55% that it is equal to 13 animals, and finally the animals that are community or of foundation 25% at a rate of 11 animals. Regarding the analysis of the sector this allows to determine how many live inside the Mercado and those that are of the neighbourhood, 72,72% is equal to 32 dogs that belong to the saint neighbourhood Felipe, whereas the community dogs that find inside the Mercado Mayorista present 27,28% at a rate of 12 dogs. As a result of all this carried out qualifications of responsible possession of pets, since the global analysis of the study concludes that the education of the citizenship is an important part to solve the problem of the dogs in the streets.
