Description
Summary:Members of the Tlingit Tribe, including Daniel Brown, left, Peter McClusky, Frank Jack, Mark Jacobs, and Angoon High School principal Ryan Dorsey pause for comments in front of the Bear Clan House at Angoon, Alaska. A recently returned totem, known for decades as "Totem Teddy" by the students of the University of Northern Colorado, was returning home 94 years after it disappeared from the front of the house. The Tlingit village was leveled by the U.S. Navy in 1882 after an alleged cultural misunderstanding. https://digscholarship.unco.edu/totem_teddy/1003/thumbnail.jpg
