Summary:In his work Ameghino describes numerous stone tools, among them some of the Moustier type, others similar to the large prismatic plates of the Graid-Presigny, several of the Eskimo type, others of the anigdaloid type, etc. It also deals with the barbotes or tembetas and their different uses, canoes and hammocks and ends with a study of the customs of the Charrúas. The different objects used by the man of the pampean formation were made known in The American Naturalist, in order to call the attention of the scientific centers on the antiquity of man in South America. En su trabajo Ameghino describe numerosos instrumentos de piedra, entre ellos algunos de tipo Moustier, otros semejantes a las grandes láminas prismáticas del Graid-Presigny, varios de tipo esquimal, otros tipo anigdaloideo, etc. Ocúpase también de los barbotes o tembetas y sus diferentes usos, de las canoas y hamacas y termina con un estudio de las costumbres de los charrúas. Los diferentes objetos empleados por el hombre de la formación pampeana fueron hechos conocer en The American Naturalist, con el fin de llamar la atención de los centros científicos sobre Ja antigüedad del hombre en Sud-América.
