Summary:Lesni kompoziti so danes ključen in najbolj uporaben material v pohištveni industriji. V lesenih objektih se uporabljajo za predelne stene, ostrešja ter za stropne in stenske obloge. Uporabniki teh plošč stremijo k čim boljši kakovosti končnega izdelka, vendar pa jim uporabljeni materiali nemalokrat izkazujejo različne fizikalno-mehanske lastnosti. Pridobili smo neposredne odgovore od naključnih uporabnikov o sami uporabi in lastnostih ploščnih kompozitov, jih analizirali in snovali izdelek, s katerim bi vsaj delno odpravili izpostavljene slabosti, obenem pa povečali spekter uporabe materiala. Iverne plošče smo testirali po standardih, ki izpostavljajo fizikalno-mehanske lastnosti. Izdelana 16-milimetrska 5-slojna plošča s primerljivo gostoto se je izkazala kot najboljša z vidika mehanskih trdnosti, izjema je bil le debelinski nabrek. Tako smo izdelali kompozit z izboljšanimi lastnostmi, ob tem pa smo povečali še spekter uporabe omenjenega materiala. Nowadays wood composites are an essential and the most useful material in wood industry. In wooden structures they are used for the production of partition walls, roof structures and for wall and ceiling coverings. The users of these boards aim for high-quality finished products, but the materials that they are made from often show various physical and mechanical properties. Therefore, our goal was to get information from random users about the usage, and the properties of the composite boards to analyse the information obtained, and to project a product having less defect and increased usability. Particle boards were tested according to standards pointing out the physical and mechanical properties. The 16 mm 5-layer board with a suitable density proved to be the best regarding to the mechanical strength, the only exception was the thickness swelling. A composite with improved qualities was made and at the same time the usability of the material was increased.
