V diplomskem delu se na začetku osredotočim na stop-motion animacijo in njen razvoj skozi čas ter širok spekter možnosti, ki jih ponuja ta klasična tehnika animacije. V drugem delu se skozi analizo treh konkretnih primerov posvetim tematiki narave. Poleg stop-motion animiranega filma sem kot primera analizirala še deli s širšega področja avdiovizualne umetnosti, ki sta mi bili vir navdiha pri praktičnem delu diplomskega dela. V tretjem delu diplomske naloge pa opišem nastanek animiranega filma Pesem kitov, od začetnih idej in tem, ki jih obravnava, ter ostalih faz predprodukcije, do produkcije in snemanja v stop-motion tehniki ter montaže in zvoka v postprodukciji. At the beginning of my Bachelor’s thesis, I focus on the stop-motion animation, its development over time, and the wide specter of possibilities that this classical animation technique offers. In the second part, I address the theme of nature by analyzing three specific examples. Apart from the example of a stop-motion animated movie, I also analyze the two works from the broader area of Audiovisual Arts that served me as an inspiration for the practical part of my Bachelor’s thesis. In the third part of the thesis, I describe how I made the stop-motion animated movie The Song of the Whales. I explain the initial ideas and the themes addressed, as well as other phases of pre-production.
