Summary:Kljub posodobljenemu študiju, ki omogoča tudi opravljanje prakse, učitelj ne more poznati vseh različnih razmer, ki lahko nastopijo pri njegovem opravljanju dela v prihodnosti. Na vseh področjih njegovega delovanja je veliko različnih razmer, tudi glede na razlike vseh, s katerimi učitelj sodeluje pri načrtovanju in izvajanju pouka. Učitelj mora dobro razumeti in sprejeti svojo vlogo ter odgovornost za čim kakovostnejše izpeljevanje le-te s posodabljanjem že usvojenega znanja, v dobro učencev, v dobro družbe in pa seveda tudi v dobro svojega osebnostnega razvoja. Namen diplomskega dela z naslovom Profesionalni razvoj učitelja biologije in gospodinjstva je bil opredeliti profesionalni razvoj učitelja in raziskati, po katerih poteh se lahko profesionalno razvija učitelj biologije in gospodinjstva. Predvsem se je želel poudariti pomen profesionalnega razvoja za učitelje, ki svoje delo opravljajo v 21. stoletju in natančneje opredeliti njihove vloge in naloge, ki se spreminjajo s tokom sprememb družbe. Tako smo v prvem delu poudarili vloge in naloge, ki jih mora izpolnjevati sodoben učitelj, v nadaljevanju pa predstavili pomen profesionalnega razvoja in kako ga lahko učitelj biologije in gospodinjstva usvaja. Ugotovitve smo pridobili s pregledom ustrezne literature in jih podkrepili z analizami že narejenih raziskav na to temo. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da tudi učitelji, ki imajo že daljšo delovno dobo, poudarjajo pomen profesionalnega razvoja in sami nameravajo še naprej delovati v skladu z njim. Navedli so, katere so bile zanje najučinkovitejše poti, preko katerih so največ prispevali k svojemu profesionalnemu razvoju. Despite the updated university programs for education, the future teacher cannot be able to meet all the different situations that may arise in his future work. There are many different situations in all areas of his activity, including according to the differences of all with whom the teacher cooperates in the planning and implementation of the instructions. The teacher must understand and accept his role and responsibility for the best quality of his work by updating the knowledge already conquered, for the welfare of the pupils, for the good of society and, of course, in the well-being of his personal development. The purpose of my thesis Professional development of teacher of biology and home economics was to define the professional development of the teacher and to explore through which paths can be professionally developed the teacher of biology and home economics. In particular, it was intended to emphasise the importance of professional development for teachers who do their work in the 21st century and to define more precisely their roles and tasks, which are changing with the flow of changes in society. Thus, the first part highlighted the roles and tasks that a modern teacher must fulfil, and the importance of professional development and how the biology and home economics teacher can conquer it. The findings were obtained by reviewing the relevant literature and supported by analyses of research already done on the subject. It has been noted that even teachers who have a longer working life are awared of the importance of professional development and intend to continue to operate in line with it. They also list what were the most effective routes for them through which they contributed the most to their professional development.
