Description
Summary:In the framework of the Italian Programma Nazionale di Ricerche in Antartide (PNRA) geomorphological surveys were carried out along the coastal area of the Strait of Magellan during 1992, 1994 and 1995, in order to furnish a wide information set concerning the late Quaternary coastal moulding and evolutionary dynamics in southernmost South America. The results have either been published or are in progress as part of a Coastal Geomorphological Atlas of the Strait of Magellan , represented by 12 maps of the eastern sector, at 1 :50 000 scale. This paper is a commentary and explanatory note to the annex map n. 4/12.
