Description
Summary:The taxonomic study of benthic foraminifera from a Tertiary section of the Campos Basin, using qualitative and quantitative methods, allowed the reconstruction of its paleoenvironmental evolution. The analysed section shows, from the base to the top, a progressive paleobathymetric reduction as it is indicated by the planktonic foraminifera/total fauna curve. The assemblage, although monotone, is diversified and reveals, in general, upper bathial to deep neritic conditions. -from English summary Fil:Bertels, A. Universidad de Buenos Aires.
