Description
Summary:The hydrogeologic behavior of the Argentine Republic is mentioned, in its continental scope that occupies 2.800.000 km2 and another that contains the Argentine Antartic and the islands of Malvinas, Georgias, Sandwich, Orcadas and South Shetland (1.000.000 additional km2). For such characterization, the territory was subdivided into 18 hydrogeologic regions, on the base of the incidence on groundwater, as well as the geologic, climatic, geomorphic, and biotic components. The current and foreseen uses of water are mentioned and also the conflicts derived of such uses. Finally the institutional and legal arrangement referred to water resources is synthesized.
