Description
Summary:The Family Food Expenditure Survey of 1990 is the first since 1986. The 1990 survey was designed to provide information for persons living in private households in the 17 metropolitan areas of Canada. In contrast, the coverage of the 1986 survey included both urban and rural areas in the ten provinces of Canada, as well as Whitehorse and Yellowknife. For confidentiality reasons, data from Whitehorse and Yellowknife were excluded from the 1986 file. Users should note that data on full budget expenditure for 1990 were collected in a separate survey. The Food Survey had the same coverage as the Survey of Family Expenditure of 1990. A public-use tape has also been produced of the Survey of Family Expenditure. Records from Charlottetown and Summerside have been excluded from both 1990 files.
