Description
Summary:This public use microdata tape is the first available using Canadian Family Food Expenditure Survey data. The survey was carried out throughout 1984. The Family Food Expenditure Survey of 1984 is the first since 1982. The 1984 survey was designed to provide information for families and unattached individuals (spending units) living in private households in seventeen cities of Canada. In contrast, the coverage of the 1982 survey included the ten provinces of Canada as well as Whitehorse and Yellowknife. Users should note that data on full budget expenditure for 1984 were collected in a separate survey (see Statistics Canada Catalogue Number 62-555). The Food Survey had the same coverage as the Survey of Family Expenditure of 1984. A public-use tape will be produced of the Survey of Family Expenditure. Records from Charlottetown and Summerside have been excluded from both the 1984 tapes.
