Description
Summary:Despite the widespread diffusion of the differential approach for high precision GPS positioning, the PPP methodology initially developed by the JPL is a simple and effective positioning tool, especially in remote regions. The methodology offers both advantages and isadvantages, and should not be considered a substitute for the differential approach. PPP shows good potential in the reported case of surveying at polar latitudes in the presence of systematic effects such as ionospheric scintillation, poor satellite constellations, and sparse density of GPS permanent stations.
