Description
Summary:In Paamiut in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) a community mobilisation programme has been launched as a response to a history of violence, suicides, drug abuse, and child neglect. The overall goal of the programme is to strengthen community resilience, psychosocial well-being and revitalisation of the culture through promotion of locally formulated values and resources, shared activities, mobilisation of social networks, job opportunities and options for entrepreneurship. One of the main goals is to prevent child neglect through a specific programme for young mothers. The chapter describes and analyses the development of concepts, interaction, and social action in the group pf young mothers.
