Summary:After working as an electronic technician in industry from 1949 to 1960 and senior technical officer at the Dept. of Physiology, A.N.U., from 1960 to 1962, Wishart joined the Antarctic Division of the Dept. of Supply as technical officer (glaciology). He took part in an expedition to Mawson 1963 to 1964, and in 1967 paid a brief visit to the American Antarctic base at Byrd. A mountain (Mt. Wishart) was named after him in 1965 and in 1970 Wishart won the Polar medal. Later he was attached to C.S.I.R.O. (division of Radiophysics and Clous physics), and is now with the University of Meterology Department. Wishart was born in 1932.
