Description
Summary:© 2018 Dr Junchao Ma Natural zeolite was modified with Diphenyldichlorosilane and ammonium to improve its function in groundwater remediation. Toluene adsorption, ion exchange performance and regeneration potential were investigated under various temperature conditions in batch and column tests. Field tests confirmed the combined hydrocarbon adsorption and ammonium release capacity was enhanced through surface modification. This promising material would improve the efficiency of Permeable Reactive Barriers installed in Antarctica by increasing the hydrocarbon adsorption capacity and providing a continual nutrient source for microorganism growth.
