Description
Summary:After the end of the Cold war there have been several significant changes in Arctic geopolitics and security. There have also happened in the Barents Region, as well as created a new situiation much emphasizing cooperation across national borders and region-building. Actually the establishment of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region is both a result of this, and has even become a metaphore for an institutional region-building in Europe and the Arctic. The recnt significant change in the Barents Region is due to globalization and its flows, such as long-range pollution, climate change, and mass-scale exploitation of resources.
