Summary:We are eager to understand more about the setting of deposition and deformation of the Pakhuis Formation and “Fold Zone” and welcome the contribution of Blignault and Theron (2010). The presentation of this data in peer-reviewed form is a major contribution to the regional understanding of the Ordovician southern-hemisphere glaciation. However, we wish to comment on a few aspects of the sedimentology and deformation model presented by Blignault and Theron (2010).
