Summary:During the 1980s, Soviet fishing vessels from Murmansk , USSR, regularly visited Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Project Ploughshares, a peace group in Corner Brook, organized visits of members of Soviet fishing crews to schools and homes in Corner Brook. Students and residents in Corner Brook were, in turn, invited aboard Soviet fishing vessels.
