This Diploma Thesis deals with a comprehensible explanation of the conception of derivation and it shows a non-traditional way of introduction this notion at secondary schools. The work is divided into five main sections. The first part introduces founders of infinitesimal calculus and its importance for such exact science as mathematics is. The second section deals with the conception of derivation in terms of school mathematics and it shows its enlistment into school curricula and the first interpretations in school textbooks. The third part pursues explanation of the notion of derivation per today commonly available textbooks. The fourth section tries to introduce the notion of derivation by way of motivating mathematical and physical examples. The evidence of this is an experiment stating several possible solutions that students themselves are trying to find. In the last section, there are several solved examples. Diplomová práce se zabývá propedeutikou pojmu derivace a ukazuje netradiční způsob zavedení tohoto pojmu na středních školách. Práce je rozdělena do pěti hlavních částí. První část seznamuje se zakladateli infinitezimálního počtu a s jeho významem pro exaktní vědu, jakou je matematika. Druhá část pojednává o pojmu derivace v rámci školské matematiky, uvádí jeho zařazení do školských osnov a první interpretace ve školních učebnicích. Třetí část se věnuje vysvětlení samotného pojmu derivace pomocí dnes běžně dostupných středoškolských učebnic. Čtvrtá část se pokouší pomocí motivačních příkladů z matematiky a fyziky zavést pojem derivace. Důkazem toho je experiment uvádějící několik možných řešení, o které se pokouší sami studenti. V poslední části je uvedeno několik řešených příkladů.
