This study focuses on the West African Sahel, which makes the transition between a fairly watered Sahelo-Sudanian zone and the Saharan desert. This territory covers 12 countries forming a longitudinal band between 12 and 20° North latitude. In West Africa, six countries (Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, N...
