This research programme contributes to understanding the exploitation of marine environments by the pre-Colombian saladoid and post-saladoid populations of the small Antilles (approx. 500 BC to 1200/1500 after the BC). It is based mainly on the study of assemblies of remnants of vertebrate animals and/or invertebrates from 20 archaeological sites located on the islands of Guadeloupe (in Guadeloupe, Lower Terre, Netherlands Newfoundland, La Désirade and Marie-Galante), Montserr, etc.
