For the first step, some scientific results have been reviewed and then future work discussed. At the workshop, the necessary and importance of long-term monitoring studies in the Southern Ocean were emphasized. Also, recent activities in the Arctic Ocean were presented. These topics will contribute to planning the future strategy of polar oceanography. |
