Description
Summary:No report has so far been practically presented about studies referring to the dwelling ability of the station focusing principally on the wintering life of the station staff engaged in scientific researches of various kinds carried out in Antarctica and in engineering researches for the construction of Syowa Station. Under such circumstances, the present study has been made to elucidate the relationship between the environmental factors related to the wintering life and the facilities of the station, focusing principally on the living perception of the station staff, where the dwelling ability of the station is evaluated by using the members of the 1st to 22nd wintering perties as testees. However, the principal theme of this study is to elucidate the most important living environmental factors required to improve the dwelling ability of the facilities of the station, to determine the course of improvement and upgrading and to present propositions for planning of a new Syowa Station.
