| Summary: | European community assumes that groups of immigrants can accept and assimilate to European culture, instead of emphasizing multicultural society. We speak about assimilation, i.e. the process of mutual acquisition of elements of culture leading taking over the culture of the dominant group by minorities, and at the same time we persuade them to maintain their own culture, identity. Propagating divergent slogans, we create a series of barriers preventing integration at many various levels. The issues above are considered in the paper. Społeczeństwo europejskie zakłada, że grupy imigrantów są w stanie zaakceptować i przyswoić sobie kulturę europejską, zamiast kłaść nacisk na społeczeństwo wielokulturowe. Mówimy o asymilacji, procesie wzajemnego przyswajania treści kulturowych prowadzącym do sytuacji przejmowania kultury grupy dominującej przez mniejszości, a jednocześnie sami skłaniamy je do podtrzymywania własnej kultury, tożsamości. Głosząc rozbieżne hasła, stwarzamy szereg barier uniemożliwiających integrację na wielu różnych płaszczyznach. Nad powyższymi kwestiami autorki zastanawiają się w swoim tekście. |
