Description
Summary:This article is dedicated to scribes from the Pechorа clan of the Tyranovs, known since the 18th century. It is based on materials compiled by the author from an electronic data base. It contains information about 13 representatives of the Tironov clan, known as owners and readers of ancient books. Information about a number of Tironovs-scribes is gleaned from the lists compiled by the famous Leningrad archaeographer V.I. Malyshev on archival documents and oral questioning of the Pechora peasants during the scientist’s expeditions to Lower Pechora. Some of these instructions were confirmed after studying the records preserved concerning manuscripts and early printed books found in the Ust-Tsilemsky district of the Komi Republic.
