| Summary: | Jean-François Regnard is an interesting case of an adventurer traveler and an adventurous player, allowing us to think of the adventure of travel at the same time as the adventure of travelog of an author whose existential ethics of life is lived and written as an odeporic adventure. From his fictional account of captivity in Algeria La Provençale to his true Nordic adventure pursued as far as Lapland in his Travels, Jean-François Regnard allows us to question the figure of the adventurer. Jean-François Regnard est un cas intéressant de voyageur aventurier et de joueur aventureux, permettant de penser l’aventure du voyage en même temps que l’aventure de l’écriture du voyage d’un auteur dont l’éthique existentielle de la vie est vécue et écrite comme une aventure viatique. De son récit romancé de captivité en Algérie La Provençale à sa véridique aventure nordique poursuivie jusqu’en Laponie dans ses Voyages, Jean-François Regnard permet d’interroger la figure de l’aventurier.
