La Antártida lleva más de cinco décadas cumpliendo su papel de santuario sin dueño dedicado a la paz, la cooperación y la investigación. En este documento se analizan las cuestiones más importantes del Tratado Antártico, el papel de España en la zona, y la posibilidad de dotar al Ártico de un marco legal similar en un futuro cercano.
