Summary:International audience Hymenostylium recurvirostrum is recorded from Île de la Possession in the Îles Crozet archipelago. This is the first record of the genus Hymenostylium from the Subantarctic. The local plants of the species are characterised and their ecology is discussed. Global distribution of H. recurvirostrum is reviewed and a map of its range in the Southern Hemisphere is presented. The current state of knowledge of the moss flora of Îles Crozet is briefly discussed.
