| Summary: | This article discusses the contribution of Jean-Guy Goulet’s work to the author’s reflections and his approaches to the ethnographic field. In particular, it highlights the relevance of the researcher’s dreamlike experiences and the teachings transmitted by Notcimik, the forest universe of the Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok, in ethnographic materials. Here, the reflection is articulated around an ethnography of a personal experience lived in profitable social relationships that enabled living better and understanding certain principles, practices and knowledge of the Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok. The ethnographic experience described in this article is in line with what Goulet (2007) describes as “extraordinary anthropology”, that is, the researcher’s involvement in radically different ways of understanding and inhabiting reality. Cet article discute de l’apport des travaux de Jean-Guy Goulet dans les réflexions de l’auteur et dans ses façons d’aborder le terrain ethnographique. Il souligne notamment la pertinence des expériences oniriques du chercheur et des enseignements transmis par Notcimik, l’univers forestier des Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok, dans les matériaux ethnographiques. La réflexion est articulée ici autour d’une ethnographie d’une expérience personnelle vécue dans des relations sociales profitables ayant permis de mieux vivre et saisir certains principes, pratiques et savoirs des Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok. L’expérience ethnographique décrite dans cet article rejoint ce que Goulet (2007) décrit comme une « anthropologie extraordinaire », c’est-à-dire un engagement du chercheur dans des façons radicalement différentes de comprendre et d’habiter la réalité.
