| Summary: | Rikosseuraamuslaitoksella vuosi 2013 oli perhetyön teemavuosi, jolloin näkyväksi kehittämiskohteeksi nostettiin perheiden kohtaaminen tehtävässä työssä. Opinnäytetyön idea syntyi tuolloin tehdessäni projektiopintoja Ylitornion vankilalla. Ehdotukseeni lähteä kehittämään perhetyötä tarttui Oulun vankila, joka avasi ovensa haastatteluja varten. Tarkoituksena on selvittää vankien kokemuksia perhetyön laadusta ja kehittämiskohteista Oulussa sekä tuoda tietoa niin rikosseuraamusalan ammattilaisille kuin myös työssään vankien perheenjäseniä kohtaaville tahoille. Tilannekatsaus ja kehittämisideat pohjautuvat laajan teoriakatsaukseen sekä esiin nousseisiin kokemuksiin. Kokemukset on kerätty haastattelemalla kahdeksaa hyvin eritaustaista perheellistä vankia syksyllä 2013 Oulussa. Teemahaastattelussa kartoitettiin muun muassa elämäntilannetta, perheen tärkeyttä sekä saatuja kokemuksia. Teoriassa painotetaan vankeusrangaistuksen oikeudellisia ja periaatteellisia lähtökohtia sekä mitä perhetyön yleisesti ajatellaan olevan. Näillä vastataan vankilaa ympäröivän yhteiskunnan tiedon tarpeeseen. Tilaajatahon tarpeisiin vastaa perheen merkityksellisyydestä vangille kertova luku sekä opinnäytetyöprosessin päättävät tulokset ja kehitysideat. Keskeisiä tuloksia ovat perhetyön olemattomuus sekä mahdolliset syyt tälle: tiedonkulku ei toimi eikä vangin tiedetä tai uskota kaipaavan tukea perhe-elämälleen. Haastateltujen kokemus on ”perhetyön” olevan vankilan mahdollistama yhteydenpito puheluiden, kirjeiden ja tapaamisten kautta. Näihin ollaan tyytyväisiä. Vaikka perhetilat ovat varsin viihtyisät, on kuitenkin lapsen pyytäminen tapaamiseen vankilalle vaikeaa. Perheen tuki ja etenkin lapset koetaan tärkeäksi pyrittäessä päihteettömyyteen sekä näin rikoksettomaan elämään. Mahdollisia käytännön ideoita nousi esiin paljon. Pieniä, mutta merkityksellisiä asioita on monipuolisen viestinnän mahdollistaminen niin askarrellen kortteja kuin myös miettien nykytekniikan käyttöä mahdollistaen videopuhelut. Lisäksi toivottiin muun muassa tiedonkulun parantamista niin talon sisällä kuin ulkopuolelle luoden todellista kuvaa vankilaoloista ja mahdollistaen yhteistyön sosiaalitoimen sekä erilaisten järjestöjen kanssa. Näin koetaan helpottuvan niin tapahtumien järjestäminen perheille kuin myös perheiden sosiaalityössä vankilassa olevan vanhemman huomioiminen. Työntekijöiden koetaan tekevän hyvää työtä, joskin kaipaavan asennetta ja rohkeutta kohtaamisiin. Criminal Sanctions Agency had theme year in 2013 when the focus of developing work was in working with families. Thesis idea was born when I was making project studies in Ylitornio Prison. My suggestion to start developing the family work got interest from Oulu Prison, which opened its doors for the interviews. The aim is to determine the prisoners’ experiences of quality of the family work in Oulu and to bring the information to the professionals working in field of criminal sanctions as well as workers who may meet family members of prisoners. Development ideas are based on a wide theory and to experiences what I got by interviewing prisoners. The experience has been collected by interviewing eight very different backgrounds prisoners who have family waiting outside the prison in the autumn of 2013 in Oulu. These interviews included questions the life situation, the importance of family as well as lessons learned in life among other things. In theory the focus is in legal and policy approaches of imprisonment time. And what is family work generally thought to be. These will be answered for the surrounding society of the prison demand for information. The needs of the subscriber will be answered by chapters about relevance of family and the results of the thesis process and development ideas. The main results are the non-existence of family work, as well as the possible causes for this: the flow of information does not work and the prisoners are not known or believed to need to support for family life. The interviewees experience is "family work" in the prison made possible communication calls, letters and meetings. These are satisfied. Although the family rooms are quite comfortable, however, the child's request for a meeting to prison difficult. Family support, and especially children, is considered important efforts to abstain from intoxicants and thus crime-free life. Possible practical ideas came up a lot. Small, but significant things is a diversified communications possible in doing post cards for kids from nice papers, as well as thinking about the use of modern technology, allowing video calls. In addition, it was hoped, among other things, to improve the flow of information both within and outside of the house, creating a true picture of the prison conditions and allowing for social cooperation, with variety of organizations. This is perceived as easy to plan events for families, as well as social workers have easier to get noticed imprisoned parent into account. Workers are perceived to do a good job, although in need of attitude and courage encounters.
