| Summary: | Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana toimii CEE eli Centre for Environment and Energy. Yhteistyömme sai alkunsa, kun he etsivät OAMK:n opettajien kautta toteuttajia antamalleen aiheelle ja me otimme heihin yhteyttä. CEE on innovaatiokeskittymä, joka luo ympäristö- ja energia-alan sekä cleantechin innovaatioista liiketoimintaa ja ekoinnovaatioista sekä vihreästä taloudesta Oululle uutta brändiä. Opinnäytetyömme on osa Teollisuus 2026-ekosysteemin kehittämisohjelmaa ja sen tarkoituksena on selvittää Pohjois-Suomen eräiden teollisuusyritysten halukkuutta yhteistyöhön vihreän liiketoiminnan ja talouden alueella. Opinnäytetyössä tutkimme myös cleantechin taloudellista kehittymistä sekä toimialan kehittymistä kokonaisuudessaan. Tutkimuksessa keskitytään toimeksiantajamme pyynnöstä metalli- ja konepajateollisuuden toimialaan ja sen yrityksiin Oulun alueella. Aluksi esitellään aiheeseen liittyvää teoriaa, sitten toimialan kehittymistä ja lopussa kyselyn tekemistä yrityksille sekä kokonaisuudessaan johtopäätöksiä sekä pohdintaa kyselystä. Opinnäytetyö on verkostotutkimus sekä kehittämistyö, jolla pyritään saamaan tietoa yritysten ja CEE:n välisitä potentiaalisista tulevaisuuden suhteista sekä edesauttaa verkostoitumisessa. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytämme Webropol-ohjelmalla toteutettua kyselyä, jonka tuloksien tarkempi analysointi jää toimeksiantajamme omasta toiveesta heille itselleen. Toimialan kehittymisen tutkimuksessa käytämme dokumenttianalyysia etsimällä tietoa erilaisista lähteistä, muun muassa toimialaraporteista. Opinnäytetyön tutkimuskysymyksiä ovat: Kuinka tärkeäksi yritykset kokevat ekologisen toiminnan osana yritystoimintaansa ja kuinka paljon teema heitä kiinnostaa? Kuinka tärkeäksi yritykset kokevat yhteistyön ja ovatko he halukkaita yhteistyöhön? Teoriatietoa varten olemme tutkineet toimeksiantajaltamme saatua materiaalia sekä olemme tutkineet toimialaraportteja, internetlähteitä ja kirjallisuutta. Kyselyyn saatu vastausprosentti oli 20 % ja kaikki vastanneet yritykset ovat kiinnostuneita yhteistyöstä. Vastausprosentin pienuudesta teimme johtopäätöksen, ettei suurimmalla osalla kyselyyn valituista yrityksistä ole tarvetta, kiinnostusta tai halua yhteistyöhön tai ne eivät koe tärkeäksi vihreää liiketoimintaa. This thesis was commissioned by the Centre for Environment and Energy (CEE). The CEE contacted teachers at OUAS seeking for students who could carry out a research on the topic in question. The authors responded to the request, and thus, this cooperation project started. The CEE is an innovation Centre, which generates business off environmental-, energy- and cleantech innovations, and turning eco-innovation and green economy into a new brand for Oulu. This thesis is part of ecosystem’s development program called Teollisuus 2026, and the purpose of it is to determine the willingness of cooperation related to green business and economy in certain industrial companies in Northern Finland. In this thesis the economic development of cleantech and the development of the industry as a whole are studied. By request of the commissioner, the focus is on the industry of mechanical engineering and the businesses in that industry in the Oulu area. The thesis begins by introducing the theoretical background of the topic, then the development of the industry and in the end, the summary of the inquiry conducted in the businesses as well as the discussion and conclusions drawn from it. This thesis is a network research and development work, aimed to gain information of the potential future relationships of the businesses and the CEE as well as to further networking. As a research method, a questionnaire made with the help of Webropol-application was employed. Based on commissioner´s request, they will keep the results of the inquiry for further analysis in future. To research development of the industry, a document analysis was applied to study various sources, e.g. industry reports. The research questions of this thesis are: How much do the companies value ecological activities as a part of their business, and how interested are they in this theme itself? Furthermore, how much do the companies value cooperation and are they willing to cooperate with other businesses in the field? For the theoretical information, different sources are studied; these include material received from the commissioner, industry reports, online sources and literature. The response rate of the inquiry was 20% and all the companies which responded were interested in cooperation. The low response rate indicates that the majority of the companies chosen for the inquiry do not have the need, interest, or will to cooperate. In addition, they appear not to consider green business.
