| Summary: | Tekijä toteutti opinnäytetyönsä produktiona, joka huipentui Kuopion musiikkikeskuksen jazzklubilla 13.5.2015 pidettyyn konserttiin. Produktion aiheena oli saamelainen populaarimusiikin matka 40 vuoden ajalta. Aiheen valinnan kautta tekijä halusi tutustua pohjoissaamenkieliseen populaarimusiikkiin sekä kertoa siitä sanoin ja sävelin konsertin yleisölle, ja tämän raportin kautta myös muille asiasta kiinnostu- neille. Tekijä valitsi konserttiin kahdeksan musiikkikappaletta siten, että ne olivat tyylillisesti erilaisia ja edusti- vat eri aikakausien musiikkia. Tekijä myös nuotinsi ja sovitti kappaleet eri soittimille sekä kokosi ja har- joitutti kuusihenkisen yhtyeen, jossa hän itse soitti rumpuja. Muut yhtyeen jäsenet olivat Annukka Hir- vasvuopio-Laiti (laulu), Teuvo Honkanen (bassokitara), Sauli Lämsä (koskettimet), Arto Moisala (sakso- foni) ja Seppo Niemelä (kitara). Pohjoisin jäsen oli Utsjoelta ja eteläisin Helsingistä, muut jäsenet olivat Kuopion seudulta. Tämän kirjallisen raportin tarkoituksena on antaa pohjatietoa saamelaisista ja saamelaismusiikista sekä kertoa produktion harjoitusprosessista. Raportissa alkuosassa on lyhyt katsaus saamelaisista ja saame- laisesta musiikista. Sen jälkeen esitellään kappaleiden alkuperäiset esittäjät ja konsertin ohjelmisto. Li- säksi raportissa kerrotaan produktion suunnittelusta, konsertin harjoitusprosessista, konserttijärjestelyis- tä ja konsertin toteutuksesta. Raporttia täydentää liitteenä oleva cd-muotoinen konserttitallenne. The author realized his thesis as a production which culminated with a concert held in the jazz club of the music centre of Kuopio on May 13th in 2015. The topic of the production was Sami popular music, and by choosing the topic in question, the author wished to become familiar with Northern Sami popular music and to tell about it with words and melodies to others interested in the subject. The author chose eight musical pieces for the concert with the criteria that the pieces should represent different styles and time periods. Also, the author notated and arranged the pieces for different instru- ments as well as assembled and rehearsed a group numbering six people; the author himself played the drums in the band. The other band members were Annukka Hirvasvuopio-Laiti (vocals), Teuvo Honkanen (bass guitar), Sauli Lämsä (keyboard), Arto Moisala (saxophone) and Seppo Niemelä (gui- tar). The northernmost member came from Utsjoki and the southernmost came from Helsinki. The rest came from the Kuopio region. The purpose of this written report is to provide background information on the Sami and Sami music as well as to discuss the rehearsal process of the production. The beginning of the report includes a short overview on the Sami and Sami music. After that, the original artists of the pieces and the programme of the concert are presented. Next, an explanation is given on planning the production and on the rehears- al process, arrangements and realization of the concert. The report is complemented by the enclosed concert recording made in a cd-format.
