However, the museum's current size is limited, and its exhibitions often feel cramped, and as a result, haphazardly organized. This lack of space and the museum's existing footprint detrimentally restrict its ability to display its extensive collection correctly. The current building dates back to the 1950's. It lacks modern amenities that would enhance the visitors experience as expected in a museum of this caliber. Despite these limitations, the National Museum of Iceland remains crucial in preserving and showcasing Iceland's history and culture. Iceland deserves a state-of-the-art, intentionally designed space capable of doing justice to the rich and growing sagas of Icelandic history and culture.
