Johnson (seated), members of the Conwell Memorial Citizens' Fund Committee, examine a sketch of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains, proposed as a memorial to four chaplains of different faiths who gave up their life belts to save the lives of four enlisted men and went down with the transport Dorchester in the North Atlantic in 1943. One of the four, all of whom were posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, was the Rev Clark V. Poling, son of Dr. Poling, pastor of Baptist Temple." With clipping
