Description
Summary:The enclosed work assesses the impacts of ocean-ice interactions on the sedimentary system in Baffin Bay, a narrow oceanic basin between Greenland and Canada, which was partly surrounded by three major ice sheets during glacial times. Using proxy data from sedimentary archives, a reconstruction of the last deglaciation to Holocene sediment and ice margin dynamics in northern and western Baffin Bay is accomplished. In addition, an overall Baffin Bay-wide assessment of the development of sedimentation patterns linked to ice sheet dynamics since the Last Glacial Maximum is provided.
