Rimsky-Korsakov family, associated with St. Petersburg University, where the sons of the composer, his students and staff were educated. M. N. Rimsky-Korsakov’s unpublished letters and memoirs form the basis of the article. M. N. Rimsky-Korsakov is the eldest son of composer, a distinguished entomologist, Professor of the University, his documents contain important unknown information about the life and creations of the composer. The article focuses on the letters of 1894, when M. N. Rimsky-Korsakov was included in a University research group working at the biological station on the Solovetsky Islands. Refs 16.
