Summary:Petr Strelkov is at: p.strelkov@spbu.ru, Victor Andreev: v.andreev.spsu@gmail.com 33 individuals of Kildin cod (15-40 cm in length) from Lake Mogilnoe (sampling co-ordinates 69°19 N, 34°21 E) and 62 individuals of the Barents Sea cod (of similar size) from the surroundings of Kildin Island (sampling localities 69°19’ N, 34°17 E and 69°12’ N, 33°34’ E) were obtained from local anglers in 2004-2009. The allozyme variation at Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase-1 (Gpi-1), Lactate dehydrogenase-3 (Ldh-3) and Isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (Idh-1) loci was examined by horizontal starch gel electrophoresis following Mork et al. (1982). Total DNA was extracted from samples using the Promega Wizard SV 96 Genomic Purification System following the manufacturer’s instructions. All polymerase chain reactions were performed on a PTC-225 thermal cycler (MJ Research). The following microsatellite loci were amplified under conditions specified by the authors: Gmo3, Gmo8, Gmo34, Gmo35 (Miller et al. 2000), Tch5 (O'Reilly et al. 2000), Mae9 (O'Reilly et al. 2002), GmoG12 (Wesmajervi et al. 2007), PGmo74, PGmo94, PGmo95, PGmo100, PGmo104, PGmo105, PGmo118, PGmo124, PGmo127 and PGmo134 (Skirnisdottir et al. 2008). The obtained products were genotyped with ABI3100 Genetic analyzer (Applied Biosystems) with the assistance of GeneMapper 3.7 software. Genotypic data is presented as genepop format. pop1=Kildin cod, pop2=Barents Sea cod, alleles are coded by size or mobility This study is a part of Victor Andreev Master thesis.
