Description
Summary:There is not much written evidence regarding the early faith of the Sami people, before the missionaries came with Christianity. Moreover, the most important written sources are mainly produced by the Christian missionaries during the 1600 and 1700 centuries and may not reflect the true religious content in Sami beliefs. This article presents a witness, namely the authors own father, revealing a new aspect, which cannot be found in the original written texts by the missionaries, on of how Sami people view reality and how this reality in which humans and animals live is governed by another more powerful reality.
