Members of Saint Mary's Arctic Research Committee (ARC) and members from the Nunavut Arctic College met for the first time at Saint Mary's University on June 4. The ARC was formed last year in an effort to raise awareness in the south about Northern issues, particularly the impending territorial divison of the Northwest Territories. The Committee hopes to foster education links between Saint Mary's and northern communities, encourage northern research and student exchanges.
