Description
Summary:ORfw .3In3x: 4 Series: Information leaflet No. 8.; Includes ill. "There are 15 species of geese found in North America. Eight of these are found regularly in the state of Oregon and one occurs as a rare migrant along our coast. The large Canada goose is the only one which nests in Oregon. Geese form a natural intermediate link, both in body size and structure, between ducks and swans. Their legs are nearer to the center of their body, allowing the body to be raised rather than flattened as in ducks. They are more graceful on land than either swans or ducks and will feed there more than the other two groups, especially on fields of new sprouting grains" P. 1 [1].
