Description
Summary:The Nordic countries, i.e., Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, have among the world's most developed and prosperous economies. The Nordics have high societal living standards, educational attainment, and consumption-based carbon footprints per capita. However, they show relatively low adaptation to effective climate mitigation policies and practices. Climate literacy is studied to understand those obstacles to pro-climate behavior and how it affects behavior with cognitive engagement and responsibility attitudes in climate mitigation. Climate literacy also affects climate-sustainable self-perception of one's sustainable lifestyle and awareness, including sociodemographic factors. The top-ranked acts by all Nordics included reducing meat consumption and consumption. Social norms, cultural habits, and political intervention can explain the difference between the Nordics.
